We have been getting the snow lately and the cold! Already this year we've had a few -30 days (-20F) plus windchills in the -45 range. Very cold for this time of year. But things have warmed a bit and getting back to normal range. Regina Bay has been frozen now for 2.5 weeks, and an ice check yesterday was 8" of solid blue ice, 1 inch of slush ice, 1 inch of slush, and about 5 inches of snow. With all the snow we have been receiving this fall, it has slowed the thickening of the ice by acting as an insulating blanket. The weight of the snow on the ice, causes the water to flood the ice creating slush. Only 5 monthes till we're back to open water agai
