Winter is still hanging on and do have a pile of snow left to melt. But the temps have warmed up the past couple days, along with the heat of the sun, it has started to melt the roadways and snow off the roofs. Water is beginning to run again. Given the amount of snow, just don't want a fast melt where the water tends to pool up and flood areas as it has no where to go. Forecast is to be warm over the Easter weekend, but then cooling off with highs just below the freezing mark for next week.

There is still a ton of snow left to melt. Temperatures thismorning were -18C (0F) with windchills of -27C (-17F) and highs forecasted to be -12C (10F). Quite a difference from last year at this time when temps were in the upper 40's to 50F at this time. We'll have snow well into April this year it looks like!

The Sioux Narrows bridge in winter. There is an ice road leaving Sioux Narrows bay heading east down Regina bay. We have had a lot of snow this winter and cold, so has made for some great conditions for snowmobiling and winter activities. Only 2 monthes till open water again.

We are back into the deep freeze again after a winter storm dumped about 10" of snow across the area. Once the skies cleared, the winds were gusting out of the north and the temperatures dropped to -27C (-16F) with windchills of -40. The cold snap isn't supposed to last for long as it's forecasted to be back to normal by the weekend. The day was spent snowplowing and pushing up snowbanks, clearing the snow from the road around the cabins and shop.

Kevin and Scott: Thanks for the great winter pictures from Tomahawk and for adding fuel to the "cabin fever" of winter in the lower 48. The winter looks so beautiful and all of the snow has some promise of good water levels in the spring. I didn't see any pictures of you lake trout? I love seeing your pictures and looking forward to seeing you all later this spring. Stay warm.

After almost a month without receiving any snow fall, this morning we awoke to a fresh four inches of fluffy wet snow blanketing everything, with another two inches forecasted for this afternoon/evening. Temperatures have been above normal and beautiful here with today forecasted to be a few degree's above freezing.
