Hi Eric, the walleye fishing has been really good. Mainly hitting them on the shallower humps around Yellowgirl point, Chisolm island, and Bath Island. They have been ranging in depth from 15' to 25' depending which hump or ledge your on. We just got a small mayfly hatch, so that has brought them up into the shallows first thing in the morning. The bass have spawned, but are still catching them on the banks. Just pitching surface baits and mepps spinners are doing pretty well. As for the musky, they to have been shallow cruising the back bays. Mainly throwing bucktails for them in the back of the bays. Will see you soon!

Thanks Scott! Any hints on size/color for the spinners and bucktails? And forgive my ignorance, but you say the bass have spawned - does that mean the bite is off? I sure hope not :-(

Pretty much using whites with red, and black with a bit of red on the bucktails. The bass have spawned, but the bite is still on. Can still pick them up along the banks and shorelines using topwaters and mepps and such. Can also finesse with plastic when you get into a school of them.

The fishing has been quite good this spring, with everything advanced. We've been quite hot all this past week, so lake temps are now 70 on the surface. The smallmouths are coming in shallow and gearing up to spawn, so mainly just pitching rocky shorelines for finding those. The walleyes have been deep (anywhere from 25-35 feet), but are now starting to come into the shallows. There still catching some deep, but are also finding some of the bigger females up along shallow shorelines feeding on larvae and leeches. Pike have been prett consistent and finding them in the back bays. Weeds aren't up yet, so can find them cruising the mud bottom bays. The next couple of weeks will be some great fishing as everything is moving up to shallower warmer water.
