The ice is almost out. Most of Regina bay to the east is open and just out in front of the resort is where there is ice. The northeast winds the past few days have been pushing the ice our way and into the docks, but today we have a light east wind which is slowly pushing the ice out. Could be all open by end of day!

The ice took a good beating today, we had temperatures in the mid 50° range with north east winds 10 to 15 mph with occasional gusts over 20 mph. As we look from the resort the ice is all gone to the East, is all gone along the North shoreline in front of the resort and appears to be all gone West of the red marker out from resort. So just this final chunk in the photos appears to be the last of the ice here in Regina Bay. If this wind keeps up likely there won't be too much ice left by morning time!

We are getting very close to seeing the ice gone. The ice was black all morning, then saw pools of water forming on top by early afternoon, which then disappeared and the ice turned white. Once at this stage, it is ready to go out. We had a northeast wind all day again today, so that has been putting some pressure on the ice. The north shore is all open now, and open water way down the bay to the very east. We are probably only 24-36 hours away from open water out here!

The ice turned pretty dark and black today so we know it's right rotten. We've had another day of NE winds, so I think that is really eroding the ice pretty quick. The temps weren't super warm, but warm enough and with a wind. The lake levels are also on the rise with the levels rising 2" this past week and a forecasted of another rise of 1" to 2" next week. The rising water levels breaks the ice away from the shore, causing it to move around a bit and form cracks.

The ice took another beating today with sunny skies with some relatively warm temps in the lower 50's and NE winds. The ice has gotten darker as the day progressed, so it is pretty rotten. We need a few big cracks to open up in the middle so it can start working against itself push itself out. Lobstick bay is already open, so were probably only 4-5 days away to open water!

The ice is looking worse and worse and blackening along the shorelines and shallower areas. Still gray and white in the middle so relatively solid out there yet. The warm Temps and wind over the past 2 days is eroding it away. Quite a bit of open water to both the west side and east side of the bridge.

The ice is pretty much unsafe to be on anymore. A lot of the shallow back bays have opened up, as well as most of the small lakes. The main lake out front is still pretty solid, but is starting to breakup around the docks. Today was cooler, but a strong north wind was still eroding the ice. Forecast is to be warm throughout the week and no sign of freezing at night after Wednesday.

The past couple days we have had some beautiful temperatures in the low 60's with little to no wind. The ice has been changing colours thru-out the day as sun has been shining on it. It has become very soft and unsafe along the shorelines that it is no longer possible to get onto the ice after today. Looks like temperatures are suppose to cool some tomorrow and hold steady at the 50F (10C) degree mark thru the weekend, with night time lows dropping slightly below the freezing mark. Be sure to get your ice out prediction in before midnight tonight!

Temperatures over the weekend held just above the freezing mark, with Sunday being an all day rain with wind. The rain took care of almost all the snow that we had. Today temperatures reached mid 50's (12C) however the wind has finally calmed and it was a beautiful clear day. The ice has turned to pretty well full honeycomb and has diminished significantly since last week. New holes drilled in the same vicinity of last weeks holes and today only measuring 14 inches, with about 12 inches in near the docks. Forecast is looking great for the week, so stayed tuned as you will start to see shorelines and the rockpile opening up.

17.5
17.5" of ice still.

We've got quite a warm spell that rolled in the past 2 days and really started to melt things. The snow on the ice melted and flooded the lake for the past 2 days, but has slowly been draining now exposing the ice to the elements. Ice checks were 17.5" and starting to honeycomb some on the top, but still pretty solid yet. The high today got up to a whopping 68F (20C) with a steady south wind. That was not a record temp, but pretty darn close! Night time lows are staying quite warm too, so it will able to melt throughout the night. The forecast for the weekend is calling to be very wet and still warm. Temps are supposed to cool Saturday afternoon, but still mild. The low for Sunday night is calling to be at the freezing mark, but then forecast all through next week is quite warm. With the forecasted rain and warm winds, that will change the ice pretty quick!

Spring has finally arrived and we are getting quite a warm spell ahead of us. The sun was out and the temps climbed up to high of 52F (12C) and the low tonight is only 39F (3C). The forecast this week is to be warm temps in the upper 50's (15C) to low 60's (18C) and lows staying very warm and well above the freezing mark. There is still a lot of ice to melt yet, but this warm spell will really help with the melt.
