Just a few icicles blown into the docks
To the East pretty well all open!
All Open to the West!Early this evening the wind switched out of the North and blew fairly hard for a short time. It broke up the remaining ice that was still in the bay and pretty well disintegrated it as it moved it back towards the South shoreline. As you can see in the photo's there is a few small pieces floating towards the East end of Regina Bay, but with wind and wave action, it won't be but an hour before they are all gone too.
Congratulations Barb M. on winning the 2019 Ice Out Contest

In just the past 5 hours the ice is disappearing. These photo's were just taken at 4 PM. We've had some light south breezes and now a SE breeze, so it is moving it out. It could be out tonight!

More and more open to the west
Really breaking up to the east
Lots of open water by docksThe ice is on on the verge of going. It is right black and honeycombed and has been slowly busting up throughout the day. Just a steady good wind is all we need now! These pictures were taken at 11 AM this morning. It might be out tonight or tomorrow morning! Watch our webcam to see!

Some more open water is visible out there now with seeing some movement going on just to the east. The ice is dwindling around us, and less ice today than yesterday. It is right rotten and honeycombed, so ready to go out. We had pretty mild temps but just barely a wisp of wind. If we had some wind, I think it will go!

The temps dipped to just below freezing last night and today's temps were warm but not that warm. But we had a stiff west wind and clear skies with lots of sun so that is eating up the ice. It is starting to shift around and move some. Just need it to crack in a few places so it can start working against itself. Lobstick bay just opened up and free of ice so we shouldn't be too much longer now!

The ice is still holding on pretty tight yet. We had a cool front come through and temps around freezing at night and not getting overly warm during the day. This morning we woke up too a bit of wet snow on the ground but has melted this afternoon. Forecast is cool again tonight but temps look to start warming up over the weekend. We have also had a lot of moisture so far between rains and wet snows, so this combined with the spring run offs coming in is bringing up the water levels. But it looks like we could be a bit yet before ice out. Need some warm windy days to get things moving around.

The temps cooled off over the weekend and slowed down some of the melt but we had some good breezes. Today we woke up to blowing snow and snow on the ground, temps hovering in the upper 30's and a good north wind. The snow has melted thoughout the afternoon, but still pretty cool out. Lake levels are on the rise as the lake rose 3" last week and the lake control board is anticipating another 3" rise this week. This will really help in freeing the ice from the shore and moving it around. Most of the small lakes have opened up over the weekend so we probably aren't too far behind. Maybe a week away now.

Changing colour around the docks
Turning darker to the eastIt was another mild one today with a high of 59F (15C) but gusty west winds. These warm winds will eat up the ice quickly too. It's been changing colours steady all day and now to a dark grey. A little cooler forecast for the weekend with some showers possibly tonight but that will keep melting it too! The shorelines are still relatively tight yet, but the lake levels are also on the rise so that helps lift the ice and breaks it free. Midnight tonight is the deadline to get your prediction in!

The temps are have been very mild the past 2 days with highs on Tuesday hitting the upper 50's (14-15C) and staying above freezing Tuesday night and getting up to 50 today (10C). A fair bit of snow melted yesterday and the slush crust on the top of the ice has softened up a bit. Ice thickness would still be pretty close to the same as 2 days ago. Forecast is still to be warm all week with rain over the weekend. Check back often for new pics and updates and to make you place your guess!
